As our Research Data Management—RDM—team provides guidance on a way forward for institutional research data management planning in consideration of the Research Data Management policy from the Tri-Agency Council (CIHR, NSERC, and SSHRC) and the anticipated data sharing policies likely to result from the new changes in the US (NIH) Data Management & Sharing Policies.

Luca Belletti
Product Manager, Digital Commons Data
Luca oversees Mendeley Data, Elsevier’s open data repository for individual researchers, and is in this capacity involved in the Generalist Repository Ecosystem Initiative (GREI) organised by the NIH Office of Data Science Strategy. In addition, he also leads Elsevier’s efforts to grow the Digital Commons Data community, through continued product development to make Digital Commons Data the best-in-class institutional data repository as well as managing the Digital Commons Institutional Repository. He also liaises with the academic community to understand the needs of researchers and librarians around all aspects of research data management and focuses on helping them achieve their goals by providing innovative solutions to preserve, showcase and collaborate on research data.

David Scherer
Customer Consultant, Pure & Mendeley Data
David Scherer works at Elsevier as a customer consultant for Pure & the Research Data Management Solutions in North America. Previously, David was the scholarly communications and research curation consultant with the University Libraries at Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh. He is an experienced academic librarian with expertise in scholarly communications, research information management, scholarly impact, research communication, open access, and copyright. David has begun collaborating with Elsevier’s Research Data Management team, and has been working closely with organizations like the NIH to make information more accessible and available to institutions across the region. As a new team member to Elsevier, David is a versatile and experienced strategic information professional, academic librarian, and customer consultant focused on customer success, David uses his years of experience as a librarian and strategic information professional to guide customers in their journeys with Research Information Systems with Elsevier.

Dimas Putra
Senior Product Manager II
Dimas joined Elsevier as Senior Product Manager in May 2022 and currently leads the product initiatives for Data Monitor, a tool to help academic institutions draw insights by tracking their research data. Dimas' experience varies across many global technology companies in Europe and Asia, primarily in technology product management, risk, and analytics. Dimas likes to share his experience working with many institutions that decided to adopt Data Monitor to simplify research data tracking and measure progress towards Open Data to the Research Data Management communities.
