Yuebing Zheng is a Professor of Mechanical Engineering and Materials Science & Engineering at the University of Texas at Austin, where he holds the Cullen Trust for Higher Education Endowed Professorship in Engineering.
He earned his Ph.D. in Engineering Science and Mechanics under Prof. Tony Jun Huang at Pennsylvania State University in 2010 and did postdoctoral research in Chemistry and Biochemistry with Prof. Paul S. Weiss at UCLA from 2010 to 2013.
His research group is at the forefront of developing innovative optical manipulation and measurement technologies aimed at solving critical challenges across the life sciences, health, energy, environment, and information technology. Their contributions have been recognized with the University Co-op Research Excellence Award for Best Paper, the Materials Today Rising Star Award, the NIH Director’s New Innovator Award, the NASA Early Career Faculty Award, the ONR Young Investigator Award, the 3M Non-Tenured Faculty Award, and the Beckman Young Investigator Award.
Yuebing is a fellow of Optica, the Institute of Physics, and the Royal Society of Chemistry.
