The fourth in Elsevier’s “Becoming Net Zero” webinar series offers an in-depth dive into its multiple applications.

This session will describe how hydrogen has been used over the past century and what is changing now. David Steven Jacoby, Senior Fellow at Boston University and author of Reinventing the Energy Value Chain, will describe emerging applications in ocean shipping, truck, and rail, as well as providing a historical overview of the hydrogen industry and it’s main applications in oil, gas and petrochemicals. John A. Foote, formerly in procurement at Saudi Aramco and current Chief Technology Officer at REVchain, which gives investors, analysts and project managers the information and advice they need to build net-zero supply chains, will explain how companies can determine whether hydrogen is a good fit for their operations.

A former US Air Force Captain with an MBA degree John has performed strategic supply chain leading roles with an extensive proven track record in multiple disciplines, industries and cultures. He is experienced in leading multidisciplinary teams, negotiating and managing multi-million dollar contracts, developing new manufacturing capabilities, implementing business-to-business software solutions, and effectively coordinating product manufacturing across multiple sites, with both internal and external manufacturing companies.

David Steven Jacoby
Senior Fellow, Boston University
David is an Adjunct Professor of Operations Management at New York University’s Tandon School of Engineering, a Senior Fellow at Boston University’s Institute for Global Sustainability, and a former adjunct professor at Boston University’s Questrom Graduate School of Business. He wrote Guide to Supply Chain Management for The Economist, Reinventing the Energy Value Chain for PennWell Books, and four other books on supply chain management and international trade. He earned his MBA and a Masters of Arts from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania, and his academic and professional contributions to the field of supply chain management span hundreds of publications and media events. He holds supply chain certifications including C.P.M. CTL, CIRM, CFPM, CSCP, and AEE.
