About
We are happy to have the EAGE’s Decarbonization and Energy Transition Committee (DET) as part of our Pathway Net Zero webinar series. In this webinar we will learn more information about the committee’s mission.

Carla Martin-Clave, will introduce the DET community and how they promote discussion around solutions to tackle climate change and energy security within the new Energy Transition framework.

Meet industry expert, Katie Ireland, a Geoscientist who transitioned from the Exploration and Production sector to the offshore wind who will share their experiences.

Learn which key transferable geoscience skills exist between the oil & gas and emerging renewables sectors.

The EAGE DET community is the network of members interested in sharing knowledge and developing skills among geoscientists and engineers working with decarbonization and energy transition technologies. The aim of the DET community is to promote the discussion about solutions to tackle climate change and energy security within the new Energy Transition framework. The DET is open community working to help professionals to share their experiences about transitioning from oil and gas to other growing energy sectors such as wind, solar, CCUS, geothermal or Hydrogen.

Carla Martín Clavé
Engineering geologist, Jacobs and Chair, European Association of Geoscientists and Engineers’ Decarbonisation and Energy Transition committee
Carla Martín Clavé is currently working as an engineering geologist at Jacobs, while also chairing the European Association of Geoscientists and Engineers’ Decarbonisation and Energy Transition committee. Martín Clavé did her BSc in geology at the University of Barcelona. She was awarded a scholarship by Repsol to study an MSc in geophysics at the University of Barcelona. Since completing her master’s, Martín Clavé' has dedicated herself to the energy transition pathway. She did her EngD in underground gas storage in salt caverns as part of the EPSRC CDT programme in carbon capture and storage and cleaner fossil energy at the University of Nottingham, sponsored by the British Geological Survey. This past November, Carla Martín Clavé was chosen by The Engineering Group of the Geological Society (Eggs) as the 25th Glossop Award winner.
