Bio
Professor Sandeep Sancheti is an institution builder, policy planner, regular columnist on various academic policies. He holds a Ph.D from QUB Belfast UK, M.Sc. from DTU, Delhi and B. Tech from NIT Warangal.
He is serving/served many professional bodies like FICCI, CII, EPSI, IUCEE, NAAC, NBA, DST, CSIR, DRDO, TEQIP, AIU, AIM, ACU, ANZIBC, IISF, CIPU, SPICMACAY etc. in different capacities. He was a Board/Senate member of many institutions including IISc Bangalore. In addition, he is/was on various national level committees of MHRD/MOE, UGC, AICTE, AIU etc. and had been a part of several Indian delegations abroad. He was also invited to address the Members of Parliament, GoI on educational matters.
Formerly Dr. Sancheti headed seven NITs like NITK Surathkal, NIT Trichy, NIT Calicut, NIT Delhi and SPA Delhi as Director. He has also led self-financed institutions like Manipal University Jaipur as President, SRMIST Chennai as Vice Chancellor and Marwadi University Rajkot as Provost. He is a recipient of the Commonwealth Scholarship and was a visiting faculty at AIT Bangkok. He is the Past President of AIU, New Delhi and the former Executive Council Member of ACU, London.
