Bio
With over three decades in academic library services, Jennifer Eddy has a range of experience from traditional librarianship to pioneering data-informed collection development strategies.

Beginning in frontline academic library roles—from reference services to systems administration—Jennifer formed a comprehensive understanding of how libraries serve their communities. This diverse foundation evolved into a role in collection development at La Trobe University in 2006, where Jennifer gained hands-on experience in the transition to online collections, developing expertise in usage analytics, managing COUNTER reports, and facilitating evidence-based acquisition decisions.

As the inaugural Collection Profiling Librarian at the University of Melbourne from 2015, Jennifer has supported a wide range of collection management initiatives. Implementing sophisticated analysis of both electronic and print resources, she piloted and guided the expansion of Evidence Based Acquisition eBook programs, peaking at over 300,000 titles. This transformation proved especially crucial during the pandemic-driven shift to virtual learning in 2020-21, ensuring seamless access to academic resources when students needed them most.

Today, Jennifer is passionate about leveraging data to shape the future of academic library collections, focusing on innovative solutions that bridge traditional collection management with emerging digital needs.
