Bio
Muhammad Alif K. Sahide (Alif) is Full Professor at Universitas Hasanuddin Faculty of Forestry, He also as a leader group on Forest and Society Research Group, Universitas Hasanuddin. He actively engages on forest education and networking in Southeast Asia, and is part of national policy committees and works across Southeast Asia as part of the ASEAN Social Forestry Network. His research focuses on critical perspectives of international regimes, institutions, governance, community forestry, and bureaucratic politics in Indonesia. He continues to hold a broad portfolio of research on forest and land use governance. He serves as reviewer of approximately 15 forest policy and governance journals every year. Alif is also a research team member for 15 collaborative research projects supported by various research, policy and planning institutions including: Universitas Hasanuddin, South Sulawesi regional planning agencies (BAPPEDA), and the Ministry of Higher Education and Research in Indonesia. As founding and chief editor of Forest and Society, Alif has also been active in leading writing workshops across Southeast Asia. He is engaged in facilitating capacity building and writing workshops for young researchers, supports various local NGOs on writing and publishing their ideas, all of which has been facilitated through the platform of the Forest and Society editorial mission and program.
