Nathan Barrow
Title
R&D Digitalisation Lead
Bio
Nathan is a physicist by training, with an MPhys and PhD from the University of Warwick. Since starting at Johnson Matthey in 2010, he has strived to enable collaborators in R&D to make better decisions, sooner. Initially, this involved setting up a solid-state NMR facility in the Advanced Characterisation department, where due to his love of Python inadvertently made his data Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, and Reusable, before FAIR was a thing.
His current role is to help offer an R&D-wide Lab Informatics Platform to make all of JM’s chemistry data FAIR. Supported by 12 people in the “Labs of the Future” programme, we are tackling organisational change though Culture (people), Digitalisation (tools), and Automation & Robotics for the 1300 people in R&D.
