Dr. Charlimagne M. Montealegre, is an assistant professor of Chemical Engineering with a strong background in Biochemical Engineering. His research focuses on the bioprocessing of bacteriophages, alternative antimicrobials for multidrug-resistant organisms (MDROs), and mechanisms underlying natural products.
In addition to his research, Dr. Montealegre is committed to teaching courses in Chemical Engineering Math, Particle Technology, Unit Operations, Reactor Engineering, and Bioprocess Engineering. He actively mentor students in the Biochemical Engineering Laboratory and Catalysis Laboratory, fostering innovation and scientific exploration.
Dr. Montealegre's contributions to the field have been recognized with the Armena-Estuar Professorial Chair Award in Engineering, and he is an active member of the Philippine Institute of Chemical Engineers and the National Research Council of the Philippines.
