Dr. Nicholas (Nic) A. Rorrer (He/Him) is a Senior Researcher and Group Manager for Polymer Science and Engineering at the National Renewable Energy Laboratory. His work is primarily focused on the concept of “Performance Advantaged Bioproducts” or how can we leverage the inherit functionality of biomass derived molecules to derived benefits in the manufacturing, performance, or end-of-life of materials relative to today’s incumbent materials. A large focus of his includes sustainable composite manufacturing to bring greater circularity to composites used in today’s energy relevant applications such as wind turbines or the lightweighting of vehicles.
