Dr. Umeshareddy is a graduate in science and post-graduate in Library and Information Science. He also holds Post Graduate Diploma in Library and Information Management and Ph.D in Library and Information Science.
With over 26 years of professional experience, Dr. Umeshareddy has made significant contributions to the field of library and information science. He established a state-of-the-art library at the Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER) Pune, published research papers, and edited books. He has served as a coordinator of the ‘IISER Library Consortium’, and as a member of the “Board of Studies”, “University Library Advisory Committees” and “Advisory Boards” of reputed publishers. He has also served as a member of the “Shodhganga National Steering Committee” and the “Committee on Scientific Misconduct” of the Indian Academy of Sciences, Bengaluru.
As a recipient of NAMASTE Fellowship, Umeshareddy has worked at the University of Gottingen, Germany. He is currently heading the JRD Tata Memorial Library, Indian Institute of Science, Bengaluru.
