Polina studied environmental chemistry at Novosibirsk State University and obtained her PhD in heterogeneous catalysis at Cardiff University. Before joining University College London (UCL) in 2023 as a lecturer in Sustainability and LCA, Polina was a Research Fellow at the School of Engineering University of Warwick, and then at the Department of Chemical Engineering and Biotechnology at University of Cambridge, followed by a Senior Research Fellowship at the Institute for Sustainability Leadership at the University of Cambridge. In these appointments, she has been working on sustainability assessment of novel chemical processes, focusing on decision support for implementation of clean technologies in the process industries.
